Taqueria Jalisco
TRANSFORMING THE CHATTANOOGA SOUTHSIDE WITH FRESH, AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FLAVORS
Taqueria Jalisco is a locally owned restaurant and bar located in Chattanooga who found its beginnings in 2005, opening first as a food truck, then moving to a cozy truck-to-table style restaurant on Rossville Avenue. Years of growth and popularity led Taqueria Jalisco to build out a new location across from their old location, where architect Thomas Palmer and Haskel Sears helped put their vision into motion.
Out of an empty concrete shell came a full custom build from the ground up by Haskel Sears. Exposed beams, garage door windows, and iron fixtures create an airy and cozy environment with urban flair. Oversized windows and doors make for a seamless transition from patio to interior, encouraging light and customers to fill the inside.
Streetside you’ll find custom planters, steel trellises and a shiplap dining area that is warm and welcoming. Upon entry, all benches, booths and backbar seating are custom built by Sears. High ceilings, concrete floors, and light fixtures give this space a trendy west coast feel. Oversized double doors, open shelving and custom bar are details that really make the space one-of-a-kind.
Taqueria Jalisco is known for their authentic, tradition driven Mexican-Style dishes, serving up unique food such as tortas and tacos in the historic Southside.
